Cricut. How could I have ignored you so long?

So, I ordered a Cricut Explore Air 2 a month and a half ago when I saw they were on sale. If you’ve followed me on social media, you might have noticed I’ve been doing a lot of lettering, and I figured that I should figure out how well my work translated to SVG format for cutting machines. Since then, I’ve completed a yearbook deadline, gone through two sales, carted my dog and child around to their various events (yes, my dog has events), and collapsed on the couch a lot.

It’s spring break, though, and I came home without a load of papers to grade. I was on a mission: clean up some loose ends. First, get some labels photographed and spruce up Bohtieque. Then, clean my desk (this is a BIG undertaking) and unbox the Cricut.

Yesterday, I finally got to unboxing the Cricut.

And, oh. My. God. What was I thinking, ignoring you so long, Cricut?

It’s the perfect connection between my love of lettering and the real world. Honestly, sometimes it just feels like my work kind of sits out there on Instagram or on my iPad but doesn’t live. The Cricut gives it life!

Since Easter is tomorrow, and we’re heading to my sister’s for dinner, I thought I’d step up the non-basket thing I do for my nieces. Here’s the result…girl power cups! The back side includes their names, of course!

I’ll be sending out one of these as my next freebie, so make sure you’re signed up for the newsletter before Friday when I send out the update! If you can’t wait, here’s the “You are powerful” quote in SVG, PDF, DXF, PNG, EPS, and JPG format…and remember, it’s for personal use only. I mean, if anyone deserves credit, it’s Melissa Etheridge.
